Plot: A Perilous Journey West
A group of Mormons face expulsion from their town due to their religious beliefs. Consequently, Elder Wiggs (Ward Bond) searches for a wagon master to guide these outcasts to the San Juan Valley. He soon encounters horse traders Travis Blue (Ben Johnson) and Sandy (Harry Carey Jr.). Wiggs convinces them to take the job, relying on their deep knowledge of the area. Despite Blue and Sandy’s guidance, however, the travelers experience numerous setbacks, especially when the outlaw Clegg family finds refuge within their wagon train.
