Easter Parade: Vintage VHS Musical

This vintage VHS tape of Easter Parade remains sealed in its original shrink-wrap, making it a collectible item. Charles Walters directed this 1948 American Technicolor musical film. Sidney Sheldon, Frances Goodrich, and Albert Hackett wrote the screenplay. Goodrich and Hackett also provided the story. It stars Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford, and Ann Miller. The film includes some of Astaire’s and Garland’s most famous songs. These include “Easter Parade,” “Steppin’ Out with My Baby,” and “A Couple of Swells.” Irving Berlin composed all these songs. We received this VHS tape donated new in its original shrink-wrapped plastic case.

Plot: A New Dancing Partner

In this lavish musical, Broadway star Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) faces a challenge. His dancing partner (Ann Miller) decides to go solo. Don confidently declares he can create a hit performer. He will choose the very next dancer he sees. This dancer turns out to be the inexperienced Hannah (Judy Garland). Hannah, however, bristles as Don tries to mold her. He attempts to make her into his old partner. Don soon realizes he is falling in love with Hannah. He understands he must let her grow into her own dancer. Only then can she reach her full potential.
