This vintage VHS tape of The Thief of Bagdad remains sealed in its original shrink-wrap, making it a collectible item. Alexander Korda produced and Michael Powell, Ludwig Berger, and Tim Whelan directed this 1940 British Technicolor historical fantasy film. It stars Sabu, Conrad Veidt, John Justin, and June Duprez, and tells the tale of King Ahmad’s quest to reclaim his throne from the sinister Jaffar with the help of a young thief. United Artists released it in the US and the UK. We received this VHS tape donated new in its original shrink-wrap.

Plot: A King’s Quest for His Throne

Deceived and deposed by his sinister adviser, Jaffar (Conrad Veidt), Ahmad (John Justin) loses his throne. Ahmad, the rightful King of Bagdad, must find a way to reclaim it. He enlists the unlikely help of a thief named Abu (Sabu). Ahmad soon meets a beautiful princess (June Duprez). Together, they embark on a series of adventures. These involve a powerful genie (Rex Ingram), a magical flying carpet, and other fantastical elements. Eventually, Ahmad and Abu must confront Jaffar. Jaffar will stop at nothing to maintain his power.
