Then, you place the spike in soft ground in a safe location. The string lights connect directly to the solar panel for power. A switch on the back turns the unit on or off. You can also set the lighting mode using the “mode” button. Options include “on,” “off,” and “flash.” The non-replaceable LED bulbs have a shelf life of more than 20,000 hours. The package includes the lights, solar panel, spike, and instructions.
