John and Joyce Veskerna have been supporters of Father Joe’s Villages 1985. Learn why they trust Father Joe’s Villages with their donations and how they encourage others to get involved through monthly giving, volunteering or a legacy gift.
Meet John & Joyce
John and Joyce Veskerna’s support of Father Joe’s Villages began in 1985 when Father Joe Carroll gave a homily at St. Agnes Catholic Church asking parishioners to consider helping our homeless neighbors during the holiday season. The Veskerna’s did just that—they set up a monthly gift to the organization. In 1989, they also organized a group to regularly volunteer in Father Joe’s Villages kitchens; The group has been volunteering ever since.
“Father Joe is such an amazing person and we continue to be inspired by what one person can do to change so many lives,” said John.
When asked why they continue to support the organization more than 33 years later, John said, “These days, Father Joe’s Villages is converting motels into apartments,” said John. “Wow! What an exciting time to be involved with this incredible organization.”
Legacy Gift & Monthly Giving
John encourages others to consider a monthly or legacy gift through their estate.
“Father Joe’s Villages has changed so many lives and all they need is our financial help to continue this work. So, why not?” said John. “Going from being homeless to self-reliant is not an easy task. It takes time and effort and that’s exactly what happens at Father Joe’s.”
A legacy gift is a great way to leave an impact on San Diego for years to come. Father Joe’s Villages team can honor you and your family now and into the future.
