Our first FUNdraising event – Taste of the Village – is just around the corner. Still thinking why you should join us? Here are just some reasons to spend your March 16 evening with us.
1) Experience a paradise for your palate.
Enjoy the bountiful flavors of French country fare delivered in new and exciting ways. Sample our Freddie Evarkiou Culinary Art Program’s creative re-imagining of classic French onion soup, smoked salmon toast point and Toulouse style cassoulet with duck confit. We also have a sweet surprise in store. Check out this Facebook Live to see what it is!
2) Get your weekend wine fill.
Guests will be able to wine and dine. The event will feature Barefoot hosted wine – both red and white – to compliment the delicious menu designed by our Culinary Arts Program. Guests will have the opportunity to ask Barefoot wine experts questions about their pour and the winemaking process.
3) Check out a bird’s eye view of San Diego.
Witness fantastic views of the Coronado Bridge and the San Diego cityscape from the roof of our 12-story building. You may even catch a glimpse of the sun setting over the San Diego bay!
4) Travel without ever leaving San Diego.
From the food to the music, you’ll feel transported to the French countryside without the hassle of airport security lines or jet lag. Munch on traditional French delicacies while listening to Parisian folk music. No need to hop on a plane when you’ve got a “Village of Lights” right here in San Diego.
5) Gain discounted access to San Diego’s best restaurants.
Be our guest, and you’ll receive a booklet full of amazing discounts from the best local restaurants. Enjoy offers from Carnitas’ Snack Shack, Mission Brewery, Rustic Root, Wavehouse, Lobster West and more. Continue savoring San Diego’s premiere cuisine even after Taste of the Village is over!
Whether you’re a longtime supporter or someone who wants to learn more about our organization, Taste of the Village will provide a glimpse into the everyday workings of Father Joe’s Villages. Discover more about the programs and services we provide to help our neighbors in need find their way back to self-sufficiency.
7) Give back to your community.
Proceeds from the event go toward providing housing, food, therapeutic childcare, health and wellness programs and employment services for our clients. Your participation and contributions bring us one step closer to our goal of ending homelessness.
