Introducing the Hope Lives Here Campaign
Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa is an affordable housing community that will transform the lives of thousands over its lifetime.
By moving hundreds of neighbors off the streets and into homes of their own, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa benefits the entire city of San Diego and brings hope to people in need.
The Hope Lives Here Campaign provides our generous benefactors with meaningful recognition opportunities in the new Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa and at the same time funds three critical needs at Father Joe’s Villages.

Hope Lives Here Campaign
A legacy of hope.
When our Donor Family gives in honor of recognition opportunities throughout the building, their gifts will build hope for those experiencing homelessness by strengthening Father Joe’s Villages’ programs and facilities for years to come.
Father Joe Carroll Memorial Promenade
During his lifetime, Father Joe Carroll helped tens of thousands of neighbors end their homelessness for good. Father Joe’s Villages will honor the life and legacy of Father Joe at its new housing community, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa.
The Father Joe Carroll Memorial Promenade, located in front of the new building, will feature beautiful landscaping, two commemorative plaques, and a
pedestrian walkway with Father Joe’s footsteps.
Donors are invited to reserve a commemorative paver along the promenade.
Innovative Funding Model
To build Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa, Father Joe’s Villages assembled funding from a combination of State, County and City sources, commercial lending, and private philanthropy.
The housing program construction is well underway and when completed, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa will generate enough rental revenue to cover all expenses related to ongoing building operations and provide supportive services for the inclusionary housing residents.
A gift toward the Hope Lives Here Campaign will help meet three urgent needs:
Repair and upgrade aging buildings and infrastructure
Help maintain the function and dignity of our facilities, in which life-saving care is provided to thousands of neighbors in need each year.
STRENGTHEN ESSENTIAL CLIENT PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Help Father Joe’s Villages’ effective programs expand to meet the needs of the community and continue to innovate solutions.
EXPAND A LEGACY ENDOWMENT TO SUPPORT SERVICES
Your support will ensure that the comprehensive services proven to help neighbors end their homelessness for good will continue to change lives for years to come.
“My biggest accomplishment is the strength given in me to change. With Father Joe’s Villages with me by my side, I had someone to walk with. I could make the steps… Before, it was dark in my life. I could see no light. By the grace of God and Father Joe’s Villages, I’m so much better.”
