Hope lives here.

Together, Father Joe’s Villages programs and housing create a community of hope where our neighbors can thrive.

Introducing the Hope Lives Here Campaign

Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa is an affordable housing community that will transform the lives of thousands over its lifetime.

By moving hundreds of neighbors off the streets and into homes of their own, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa benefits all of San Diego and brings hope to people in need.

The Hope Lives Here Campaign provides our generous benefactors with meaningful recognition opportunities in the new Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa and at the same time funds three critical needs at Father Joe’s Villages.

Ed and Ann Witt

Honorary Chairs of the
Hope Lives Here Campaign

“No one should have to sleep on the street. With access to the right resources, people can and do change their lives.”
Deacon Jim Vargas, President & CEO

A legacy of hope.

When our Donor Family gives in honor of recognition opportunities throughout the building, their gifts will build hope for those experiencing homelessness by strengthening Father Joe’s Villages’ programs and facilities for years to come.

Innovative Funding Model

To build Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa, Father Joe’s Villages assembled funding from a combination of State, County and City sources, commercial lending, and private philanthropy.

Construction is well underway and when completed, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Villa will generate enough rental revenue to cover all expenses related to ongoing building operations and provide supportive services for the residents.

A gift toward the Hope Lives Here Campaign will help meet three urgent needs:

1.

Repair and upgrade aging buildings and infrastructure

Help maintain the function and dignity of our facilities, in which life-saving care is provided to thousands of neighbors in need each year.

2.

STRENGTHEN ESSENTIAL CLIENT PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Help Father Joe’s Villages’ effective programs expand to meet the needs of the community and continue to innovate solutions.

3.

EXPAND A LEGACY ENDOWMENT TO SUPPORT SERVICES

Your support will ensure that the comprehensive services proven to help neighbors end their homelessness for good will continue to change lives for years to come.

“My biggest accomplishment is the strength given in me to change. With Father Joe’s Villages with me by my side, I had someone to walk with. I could make the steps… Before, it was dark in my life. I could see no light. By the grace of God and Father Joe’s Villages, I’m so much better.”

Chuck, Supportive Housing Client

Creating community.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta is more than just affordable housing. It’s a community of hope where people can  achieve a brighter future and end their homelessness for good.

A Community of Hope

Situated adjacent to Father Joe’s Villages’ East Village campus, the residents will have access to comprehensive, life-changing services that will help them maintain housing long-term, including employment assistance, integrated behavioral and physical health care, therapeutic childcare, and so much more.

The apartments have been designed with dignity in mind. Each floor offers community gathering spaces, several floors have shared outdoor gardens, and the landscaped promenade outside beautifies the entire East Village.

Access to comprehensive services to support long-term success

Serves vulnerable families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities

Ample space to foster community and combat isolation amongst residents

Supports dignity through simple but tasteful design

“When they opened the door I fell to my knees crying. I was so incredibly overwhelmed. The path of faith sometimes gets trying. You sit there wondering ‘How long?’ ‘How much more?’ and then finally walking into my new home… It was indescribable.”
Mark, Program Graduate
