Stories of Creed from Father Joe's Villages
Experience the powerful narratives of individuals who have triumphed over homelessness with resilience and humor at Father Joe’s Villages’ upcoming event, “Stories of CREED in Action.” Witness captivating plays depicting incredible journeys on June 14-16, 2024, at the Neil Morgan Auditorium in the San Diego Central Library. Engage in enlightening talkbacks afterward, fostering understanding and solutions for homelessness.
This collaborative endeavor, supported by Father Joe’s Villages, Playwrights Project, and San Diego Central Library, is made possible by the Humanities for All Project grant from California Humanities. Guided by Humanities Advisor Ken Saragosa, a PEN America literary award winner with firsthand experience of homelessness in San Diego, this initiative aims to shed light on the human aspect of the homelessness crisis.
“Father Joe’s Villages is committed to ending homelessness through compassion, respect, empathy, empowerment, and dignity (CREED).” Project Director Aleta Barthell emphasizes, “Through ‘Stories of CREED in Action,’ we seek to highlight the humanity underlying the homelessness crisis and inspire meaningful change within our community.”
