During this crisis, Father Joe’s Villages will continue our essential programs and services for our neighbors desperately in need in the community, including emergency shelter, housing, meals, health care and more. By offering healthcare, nutritious meals and housing to those who are most vulnerable, we are working to save lives and alleviate the suffering of those living on the streets. But how can you help if you are self-quarantined? You can still show your support for homeless neighbors in need from home by sharing how to help on social media.

Become a Social Media Warrior

During a crisis like this, many people want to act but aren’t sure how. There are many ways you can better your community while still maintaining social distancing. Aside from donating to support Father Joe’s Villages COVID-19 Emergency Response, you can help from home just by posting on social media. By sharing content about Father Joe’s Villages’ essential programs and services on your social media pages, you can bring awareness to the needs of our unsheltered neighbors.

We’ll Make it Easy

We’ve provided you with all the copy and photos you’ll need. Simply copy and paste the information into your social profiles, hit post and you’ve done your part to help people experiencing poverty and homelessness in San Diego.

If you’re new to the world of social media, don’t worry! We’ve included instructions below on how to post on specific social platforms, how to create a Facebook Fundraiser and change your Facebook profile picture and cover photo, and how to give back when shopping on Amazon.

Option #3:

Now is the time for us to come together as a community. Our neighbors experiencing homelessness are more likely to experience negative outcomes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those living on the streets face an added layer of challenges:

  • Less access to preventative hygiene practices, such as hand washing and sanitation.
  • Already compromised immune systems and pre-existing chronic illnesses.
  • No safe place to self-isolate or recover if illness is contracted.
  • Close and often unsanitary living conditions in encampments, in canyons and on streets.

Father Joe’s Villages program and services save lives and alleviate suffering for people on the streets of San Diego. For that reason, we need your help more than ever to continue our important work. Donate now: https://bit.ly/2R6sucO
