Staff Spotlight: Earlene
Currently our Residential Program Manager, Earlene has worked at Father Joe’s Villages for almost 17 years. Recently, we took the opportunity to chat with Earlene about her work, what she finds inspirational and what issues are important to her.
Why do you choose to work with Father Joe’s Villages?
I am inspired by the many different lives that we touch on a daily basis, whether they are clients, residents, volunteers or supporters. Working here and giving of myself on a daily basis keeps me humble and inspired.
What was your most heartwarming moment / experience at work?
A resident’s individual success is always a bright spot in my day, but if I had to choose what I feel are the best of times it would be when we have staff and resident functions when the staff and residents get together to do projects or we have appreciation ceremonies.
What role do you think Father Joe’s plays in the community?
Father Joe’s Villages is important to this community because it gives homeless individuals in the community a voice. It is a privilege to be part of an organization that instills hope and possibility by providing both the basics and the other tools that pave the road out of homelessness.
